Colorguard News: Also, optional rifle sectionals will be held from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. before every Monday Starlight Parade rehearsal, starting April 25th. If you’re interested in spinning rifle, this is a great opportunity to get started! Why join the Sprague Colorguard? The colorguard team focuses on the visual enhancement of music through the use of flags, rifles, sabers, and dancing. Colorguard is a great activity to join! You’ll make great friends and memories, along with participating in an awesome group that involves staying active, building muscles, and performing. During the fall, the colorguard performs with the marching band at all home football games and several competitions around the Northwest. During the winter season, students can participate in winterguard (an indoor version of colorguard), and this spring the marching band and colorguard will participate in the Rose Festival’s Starlight Parade. Being in colorguard has its perks! Since the Sprague Marching Band and Colorguard starts rehearsals in the late spring and summer, new members just starting high school will begin the school year already knowing many of the other members of the Sprague band and color guard. You'll get to exercise, spend time in the sun, and enjoy the company of your friends, all while being involved in one of the biggest organizations at Sprague. You get to do all this knowing that you have the support of older guard members to help you adjust to high school, marching band, and colorguard. The Sprague Colorguard is open to all Sprague High School students and any middle school students in the area who will eventually go to Sprague High School. All of our rehearsals are on the Sprague Band calendar and we encourage everyone to come support us in our inaugural winterguard season! Feel free to contact the instructor with any questions.
